MEET THE INSTRUCTORS...

CHRISTOPHER GERKEN - CAMP DIRECTOR

Christopher is a professional actor, teacher and director residing in Washington DC and New York City. Recently he directed the off-Broadway premier of The Last Days of Cleopatra and is the Drama Director at Walt Whitman High School. Christopher has performed everything from Amadeus to Zorba in regional, touring, professional and community theaters across the country. Christopher is also an award winning director. He has directed over 30 musicals and dramas in the Washington metro area each either recivieng nomination or award from the British Emabassy’s Ruby Grifffith Award Program. From early on in his career Christopher has enjoyed working with young people. He toured nationally with a childrens theater company and has taught outreach theater classes to inner city schools throughout the country. Christopher continues to pursue his passion for teaching as he is a resident instructor for the Musical Theater Center and promotes his school show, History Through the Eyes of Broadway. Christopher has several years in drama camp experience, having recently owned and operated Theaterworks Virginia. He also teaches drama at several schools in Montgomery County.

JONATHON JACKSON - Camp Instructor

Jonathon is regular performer at Toby's Dinner Theater in Columbia MD.  He has performed at practically every professional theater in the DC area and recently starred as Charlie Brown in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown.  He has a degree in Music Theater Education and has studied dance extensively. He tours with a children's theater company and teaches music, dance and acting in local schools.
